Blue Origin launched and landed New Shepard rocket on Thursday, January 14 at 12:19 am EST (17:19 UTC) from Corn Ranch Spaceport, Texas. This was Blue Origin’s 14th uncrewed flight of its New Shepard rocket. New Shepard is designed to take people and payloads to suborbital space and back. It is expected to start sending space tourists this year. On the 14th flight, the capsule will be outfitted with upgrades to the crew capsule for the astronaut experience as the program nears human space flight, such as improved environmental controls, display panels, and communications systems. The capsule will have six seats, with a mannequin dubbed “Mannequin Skywalker” occupying one of them.
